Tater is an AI co-facilitator for live workshops and events. It listens to the room, transcribes the conversation, answers questions out loud, and generates summaries, polls, word clouds, and other collaborative activities — so facilitators can focus on people instead of logistics.

They open the join link or enter the session code on their phone — no app install and no account required. From there they can respond to activities and see shared results.

Audio is the key to Tater working well: everything Tater does (themes, summaries, polls, word clouds, answers) comes from the live transcript, so clear audio makes a real difference.

Virtual events: your streaming setup usually handles this well. Run Tater on the computer you present from and capture your microphone, or the meeting audio through your computer's speakers (shared tab / system audio).

In-person events: you'll likely be moving around the room, so we highly recommend wearing a Bluetooth microphone paired to the computer running Tater, in addition to any in-house amplification. The venue's sound system makes you loud in the room, but it doesn't usually feed your computer; the Bluetooth mic captures your voice directly as the facilitator track.

Participants: their audio comes through their own devices, whether they join on a computer or a phone. Once they join their table and turn on their mic, Tater hears that table.

When a session is live, Tater processes room audio to produce a live text transcript. The facilitator controls when Tater is connected and can disconnect at any time. Facilitators are responsible for telling participants the session is being transcribed and obtaining any consent required by law. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Tater uses OpenAI for conversational responses and generated content, and AssemblyAI for speech-to-text (including optional speaker separation). We share only the data needed to produce those results — see the Privacy Policy.

Core features — talking with Tater, participant capture, and the post-event wrap-up — are always included. Premium "toppings" (such as AI-built polls, design exercises, and universal branding) are optional add-ons. A few features are metered — for example, speaker separation is billed per active table, per hour of capture.

Organizations purchase facilitator seats and manage everyone from one account. Specific tiers and any trial or testing access are shown when you sign up or set up by your organization.

No. Only facilitators and organization admins need accounts. Participants simply join with the session code.

An organization lets a conference organizer or team buy a set of facilitator seats, invite facilitators, and create and assign event sessions centrally — including pre-configuring an event's branding, tables, and toppings so speakers get a ready-to-run session.

Yes. Each event produces a wrap-up, and you can publish a persistent recap link to share summaries and resources with participants after the session.
